Current Projects

Oh my, where do I begin?

To not make this one page the largest page on the site, I'm just going to give you a brief overview of the projects I am actively working on the 1st drafts for.

Dawnblade Chronicles book 2:

The Kingdom Hearts-like series is coming along nicely. I feel like I am probably about 20-25% of the way finished with this book. And I expect the series will be a total of 3 books.

I would rather not spoil book 1 to explain this one yet. But let's just say that the Dawnblades are having trouble repairing the damage done in the first book, so they set out on a journey to find help.

Untitled Wartime Epic Fantasy - considered titles: Redkin

This book is quite possibly the longest I've written - or will be. As it is, it stands at 70k words (almost as much as A Game of Pawns already), and I still feel like I haven't reached the halfway point.

I've considered turning this into a 2 book series. I do have an ending for book 1 if I do that, but part of me wants it to be a standalone. I guess we'll see by the time I finish the first draft.

The story takes place during a losing war. Desperate, the losing side uses dragon's blood to enhance some of their soldiers. Few survive the process. And changes occur with those that do survive.

Palm Writer:

I've had the title of this one in mind for a long time. I seem to have trouble sticking with this one. Other projects like to inspire me as I work on it. That said, I am less than halfway in, so it is coming along.

Dory comes from a family of palm readers and tarot card readers. In fact, the magic of reading has been in her family for generations. But when her magic took shape, it was not of reading, but of writing. Now that she's older, someone very wealthy wants to use her gift for his own means, and he'll  stop at nothing to claim her.

Untitled Shadow Monsters book:

In some ways, Lindy Enns' book, When Shadows Fall, inspired this idea. It definitely sparked it. I am still near the beginning of the story, but I'm excited to see where it goes.

When the shadow monsters came, they devoured everything that bled. After a few hundred years, all that remains of the humans is a single town, and a travelling group always heading west. Humanity won't survive long, unless they find a way to fight against the strange creatures - the magical weapons of old. However, no one can claim them; the weapons must claim a wielder.
